A Tribute to Mark Hite

Mark William Hite, a prominent Chattanooga realtor and a beacon of the community, passed away unexpectedly at his Key West condo on January 1, 2024, at the age of 58. Born on July 31, 1965, in McCracken County, Kentucky, Mark was a distinguished figure in Chattanooga for the last 30 years, where he made an indelible mark through his professional and philanthropic efforts.

Mark's journey in real estate began in 2002, leveraging his extensive experience in retail sales management across the southeastern United States. His leadership and expertise saw the Mark Hite Team of Real Estate Partners LLC achieve remarkable success, with a staggering $116 million in sales for 2022 and over 4,700 families in Chattanooga trusting his team with their real estate needs.

Beyond his real estate accomplishments, Mark was deeply committed to his community. He served as the President of the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors twice and actively contributed to the boards of several organizations, including Chambliss Center for Children, CHI Memorial Foundation, Cempa Community Care, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga, and the Launch Pad. His dedication extended to the American Heart Association and The American Cancer Society, where he was honored as the 2021 Hope Society Honoree.

Mark's generosity knew no bounds. He donated over $200,000 annually to various local nonprofits, reflecting his profound ethos of kindness and community stewardship. His academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Kentucky. He was also a proud member of the University of Kentucky Alumni and a Kentucky Colonel, a prestigious title recognizing significant contributions to the community, state, and nation.

Mark Hite was not just a successful realtor but a beloved friend and a pillar of the Chattanooga community. His loss is deeply felt by many, including his mother, Lois Jean Hite; his brother, Todd Gregory Hite and family; his beloved dog, Lilly; and close family friends, Eric and Lizabeth Tickle Tidmore and their children. Mark's life was celebrated at Christ United Methodist Church on January 13, 2024, with a service that reflected the joy, happiness, and promise he brought to everyone who knew him. His legacy is a testament to his belief in the power of community, kindness, and service, and it will continue to inspire and influence Chattanooga for many years to come.

Mark was instrumental in the founding of Gig City Property Managment and his dedication to tenants of all walks of life will continue in his honor.
